    RIVERS. PEOPLE. FUTURE.

    Restore a river.
    Develop a person.
    Change a community.

Offline. is a South African people-and-planet initiative restoring rivers while creating work, skills, opportunity and stronger communities.

    Discover How Offline. Works

    Clean Rivers. Stronger Tomorrows.

    The central idea

A cleaner river can change more than water.

Offline. starts with a practical action: clean a river. But the impact can travel much further.

Cleaner waterways support healthier ecosystems. Environmental work creates opportunities for employment and learning. Participation creates skills. Skills create responsibility. Responsibility creates leadership. Leadership creates opportunity.

Offline. brings environmental restoration and human development together.

    The Offline. model

Six connected actions. One practical model.

    CLEAN

    Remove waste. Protect water.

Regular river clean-ups targeting litter, dumped waste and harmful material using appropriate safety procedures.

    EDUCATE

    Turn participation into knowledge.

Train teams and volunteers in environmental care, waste management, water conservation, biodiversity, food production and sustainable living.

    RESTORE

    Help natural systems recover.

Rehabilitate riverbanks through appropriate indigenous planting, erosion-conscious restoration and habitat improvement.

    EMPLOY

    Create work with dignity.

Create paid opportunities while developing a workplace culture centred on safety, purpose, responsibility and learning.

    EMPOWER

    Build skills that travel further.

Develop practical capability, responsibility and exposure to future environmental and green-economy opportunities.

    INSPIRE

Show what positive action can achieve.

Share measurable progress, learning and community stories that encourage participation.
